Reputation

Reputation, like gold and experience, is a resource that is earned by winning battles and completing quests. Accumulating reputation is the only way to increase rank in the accompanying region of the game, which in turn increases the variety of monsters which the player can recruit. For example, rank 1 is needed in the Arctic region in order to recruit Bad Frosty. Once the rank needed to recruit a specific companion is attained, the player has a 1 in 50 chance of recruiting a monster at the end of the battle with that monster. Additionally, companions recruited at higher ranks start at a higher level.

There are 5 possible ranks in the game, with players starting at the lowest rank of Neutral. The ranks are the following in ascending order starting with the lowest albiet highest number:

Rank is attained separately per region, and must be accumulated separately between areas.
